your in the right direction. I assume these are the PC lights you are talking about. I have one 96w on my 46 bowfront and everything is thriving. A lot of times people "over rate" the amount of light you should have for your tank. With a 2x96w you will be in a great position to keep most low...
Thanks guys...I am quite a newbie to SW myself. Been doing planted fresh for a couple of years and now here I am with my 46 gl bowfront SW. The wife took over the FW and is running a 29gl with another 10gl nursery tank. This SW is only 3 months old so i am still keeping my fingers crossed...
Get yourself a banded bullet goby...very calm....sand-sifting and fun to watch....the yellow-watchman goby is not a sand sifter but beautiful as well. HTH
I saw a post recently on this and I am having some similar problems....a very fine light brown powder settles at the bottom of my sump. I have a filter sock in-line with my overflow box. Is this just the nasty stuff that is being overflowed...detritus maybe? My question is what might eat...
I love this skimmer....a great price...easy setup....a pump is already included and you can use it for in-sump or HOB. I use one for my 46 gl bowfront and would not have it any other way....SeaClone is alright but you will continue to run into those problems. HTH

The age old question of what is a good salinity and SG? Also...I am using a Sea Test Hydrometer, does anyone know what type of correction needs to take place for this hydrometer as far as temperature goes? I think it might be time to get a refractometer
how much the light bends throught the water gives you the reading. Here is a good one that I know everyone likes to be asked. What is proper salinity and SG for a reef aquarium?
cool...thanks for the advice....I drip acclimate all my fish and inverts but was not aware to drip corals. It makes sense though. Hopefully it will come out alright, i am going to give it a couple of days. Thanks for your help!
Oh yeah...where in LA are you?
I acquired a great striped mushroom rock from my LFS yesterday. Loaded with extras on the rock(good and bad) but overall it looked great at the shop. After floating for a half hour after i got it home I noticed that most of the mushrooms had shrunk to about half of their size. After putting...
yeah...I am trying to take it slow as reccomended. Added a nice stripe mushroom rock today with a couple of extras on it. All is live rock but it appears I probably wont get too much off of it. Probably a good bit of die-off when shipped. Thanks for the compliment....this is my first SW...
