I thought it maybe the light as bulbs do need a change, also i want to frag it do i simply take a scalpel to the bottom of a branch and sew onto a rock or any better methods?
I believe the only reason they shouldn't be under direct light is so algae doesn't grow on them both my orange and black are under direct light and with good water quality I have no problems.
Sun corals need feeding every day like a dog, you can get away with only a few times a week and need meaty foods like mysis, if the sun coral still opens and takes food then i would say alot of tlc (feeding every polyp every day) is needed as they don't feed off light at all, if the coral...

I have heard of clown fish doing this dive technique at very very baby early stages of their lives when they are going to die just one of those things unfortunately, my guess would be the frogspawn sting was too much and your clown hadn't built the immunity slime coat to the toxins.
