Is there a doctor in the house? Red spots on rasbora.

Just wanted to update that he's made it! Still a touch of red at the very top, but way better than before, and he's much more active. This school of fish are fighters. This entire school survived an ich outbreak last year, they were the only fish in he entire tank to survive. Glad he's...

Thanks for the reply! PH is 7, nitrates/nitrites/ammonia is 0. Temp is 74. We have 5 of those guys, some Endlers, a few Amber Tatars and cardinal tetras, and some Siamese algae eaters. We'll give the epsom salt a try, hopefully it does the trick! Thanks again!

Should have also mentioned that water parameters are perfect ( tested every other day since he's been sick just in case we are missing something) tank is 35 gallon, planted. Temp is 74.

Is there a doctor in the house? Red spots on rasbora.

This is one of our 1.5 yr old Rasboras. He's a big fella, Although I'm not entirely convinced they're Rasboras because another store had them as barbs. Anyway, The redness started out on his bottom side, and he looked a little distended, so we opted for peas - he gobbled them up. I assumed it...

The most common mistake beginners make is....

Ah, so that explains this: My tank was lightly planted for a year and doing okay, but my plants weren't thriving. I bought a new light that came highly recommended by a friend, but a little over a week or two later and voila! Algae! Not what I was going for.. Will spend the rest of my night...

When to let fry out of the breeder box? (Endlers)

Thanks for all the help! I appreciate it! Another mom just gave birth, and we were able to find 3 fry. We check the tank for babies a few times a day, but since we only found 3 I'm afraid some of the bigger fish may have had a little sushi appetizer before we fed them. @mjs500doo, what do...

When to let fry out of the breeder box? (Endlers)

Thanks for the response! It was encouraging and left me somewhat reassured when I let them out of the box. I am happy to report that all 5 little guys (or, I'm still thinkin' gals are doing great!) I still count them about 20x a day just to make sure they're all okay. I'm fairly certain the...

When to let fry out of the breeder box? (Endlers)

Mid-December we were astonished to fine 5 teeny tiny babies in our tank! Turned out our Endler's had babies! We were able to scoop the little guys into a breeder box and they have been growing really well. 6 weeks later, are they ready to be introduced into the community? Tank has peaceful...

Can someone have a look at my Denison Barb please?

Awesome, ill look into the salt idea. I appreciate the response. Hopefully the fishy pulls through. Sad to watch them struggle!

I tried giving him/her peas, but it has no interest in eating.

Can someone have a look at my Denison Barb please?

It seems to be floating around, trying to swim. What is swim bladder? I haven't come across this before, treatable?

    Ich

Have any pics of the spots?

better photo. I don't think the fishy is going to make it, but any ideas would be helpful just to know for next time.

    Ich

Try stopping at 82 degrees for a day or two, I only say that because my neons couldn't tolerate the higher temps and I lost the entire school.

    Ich

Raising the temp slowly can help. Ich is unfortunately pretty common. Can be brought on by any sort of stress. Don't jump to the salt without checking if the fish can tolerate it. My loaches can't, not sure about the Pleco.
