I have neons, white clouds and a dwarf gourami that all eat the algae wafers during the day. When I put algae wafers in right before turning off all the lights in the room, only the bn pleco, cories and ottos get them.

I accidentally sucked up one of my cories and he was fine, so my guess would be he was already dead.

When I first started out I bought the big container of flakes, I've probably only used about a tenth of the container in 7 months. How long before flakes usually go bad?

Yeah, I'm just worried about the Dwarf Gourami and maybe the bristlenose pleco.

I am going to be moving my 20 gallon long to my parents house in a couple weeks, it is fully stocked, my parents have a betta fish in a bowl that they have had for a while. I don't think it would work to add the betta to my tank, but I thought I would ask to see if anyone thought it would be...

My tap water has high nitrates 40ppm, and high ph 8.4, normally I just add prime wait 5 minutes then pore it in, would waiting help my algae problems or lower the nitrates or ph?

I ended up cleaning the glass real good with a credit card, so far so good, the suction cups haven't came off yet.

The suction cups for my heater and thermometer use to stick to the inside of my tank with no problem, but now they dont at all. I have no idea what to do since my tank needs a heater, does anyone have any ideas?

I just took the bulb off to look at, and it is a Marineland F15T8 Natural Daylight. I tried searching online and I can't seem to find the specs for it though.

My 20 gallon long currently has all fake plants, I want to change things up a bit and get 1 or 2 live plants. What are some plants that I could get from petsmart or petco that are VERY easy to maintain. I know nothing about plants. I don't remember what bulb I have but it is quite bright, and...
