    T5 lights always shipped broken...

I'm trying to buy a 6500k t5ho bulb for my planted tank. Every time they ship, I find the bulb broken. Luckily I've been given a full refund every time, but I need this bulb. What Should I do?

    Sniperhank's UPGRADED 55 gal Build

What does your sump look like? I solved that problem by wrapping a sheet of egg crate with black mesh (inert of course). I cut it so it was a little less than the width of the tank, and jammed it in there, never had an issue since.

    Need lighting help!

It's programming, when you put a computer into this stuff, you can do some crazy things. For example, have your tank tell you your ph level, and if its above 7.5, give electricity to an alarm that shoots a text to your phone telling you the exact ph. Just an idea of a basic thing you could do.

    Need lighting help!

If it's an led fixture with a dimmable driver, it's possible. If not, then it still kinda can, the controller can be used as a timer that turns it on an off.

Here's the actual led part, lets see if I can find the rest.. http://www.aquastyleonline.com/products/Moonlight-kit.html Edit: This is as good as I could find, but it could do basically everything you want, and it doesn't have to be for a reef

Well, they are dimmable, and used on a controller. The controller tells the dimmer (a potentiometer) how much power it should get and for how long.

Buffy's 1st Ever SW Build - Reef Tank

How long is it? My 3ft tank needed them 12" above it so it didn't fry everything even with it dimmed and for even exposure. Mine is 16" deep. I dealt with the same problem, just say you like the industrial look ;) Also, make sure you transition them slowly. This will add a ton of light to the...

    Need lighting help!

Moonlight led lighting is for nighttime, they won't bother the fish, they actually help with breeding habits in some cases. If you get the fancy ones, they'll match phases of the moon, super cool. They are by no means mandatory though, just a cool bonus.

I had a black version of those, very powerful, got the job done. I'd recommend them.

Buffy's 1st Ever SW Build - Reef Tank

I'd say either get your local fish store to take care of the tank if they do that, or take it down. If its too much, it's too much. Sorry if that sounds harsh, it's not supposed to be.

Which light for my planted tank?

Yeah, I'm used to 20k whites.. It'll be a transition. I'll bought the ge starcoat 6500k today. Just one bulb, I'll use the fishneedit bulb for the other. And yeah, I should've explained myself better, I was thinking flourish excel and the flourish for micro supplements. Would that all work?
