Need help with new 90g setup conversion

No shocker, but I'm bored with my 90g freshwater. I don't want to invest in plants and would rather do a saltwater tank. To start I plan on doing a fish only tank with live rock and live sand and eventually down the road invest in lighting for coral. I have the materials to build my own sump...

    Fresh to Salt

I found a Aqua Medic Turboflotor 1000 Protein Skimmer for $99. I am going to build my sump tank and it is going to be 35g total when finished. So will that skimmer be realistic for my tank? It says the skimmer is rated for 25-250 gallons. Seems like a big range, but I'm new to all this...

    10 gallon start up

I haven't seen them included in the sale. The tanks in the sale are the standard rectangular tanks. I know they aren't as "fancy", but you can't beat the deal. Best bet to get a deal on a bowfront would be CL.

    Fresh to Salt

So when I start to get all the supplies, should I look to get a skimmer and uv for the size of the sump/refugium the main tank or both? I plan on getting a 40g aquarium to use under the 90, unless that is way over kill.

    Fresh to Salt

Doesn't sound bad at all. I have a 10g tank I might be able to get from family for a sump. Don't think I'll need a heater living in Phoenix. It was over 100 before 11 today. If anything a cooler would be good.

    Fresh to Salt

I'm debating on converting my freshwater to saltwater. Currently my setup is relatively minimal. 90g tank on stand Cascade canister 1000 filter 4 port air bubbler 2 48" fluorescent tube lights on timer Not sure what I would need to convert it and keep costs low. Not too upset if it becomes...

    Cory eggs and guppy spawn

Just saw the first one swimming in the box. It is trying to go through the sides, but it's head is too big. Safe for now. Woohoo!

    Cory eggs and guppy spawn

The fish is not with the eggs. I've been thinking about moving the container to my shrimp tank after they start hatching. It just has shrimp guppy fry and that's it. What do you think?

    Cory eggs and guppy spawn

This morning I caught the snail trying to get into the bucket with the eggs. Thankfully my one year old pushed him off. There were more eggs, but I couldn't get them all before the other fish. :(

    Cory eggs and guppy spawn

That's cool! Not sure what is going on in my tank. I tested the waters, haven't done any water changes in a while and the nitrates are around 30, but they keep laying eggs.

    Cory eggs and guppy spawn

Here we go again. One of my green Corys is being chased by 3 smaller green Corys putting eggs all over the tank. They all appear beige right now and sniper snail is on the move. And now the sword tails are snacking. I need to move in now. Argh!!!

    Cory eggs and guppy spawn

A little hard to see the pictures, but thanks for the info. Not sure when to expect another batch of eggs, but will definitely follow the steps provided. Thanks!

    Cory eggs and guppy spawn

Most of the eggs were the amber color. Guess we'll see what happens by the weekend.

    Cory eggs and guppy spawn

So I noticed today that I had these little balls stuck all over my fish tank today and my blue snail cleaning them off. I quickly realized that they were most likely cory eggs from my juliis. I was able to get off the tank so they weren't snail food anymore and moved them into a smaller...
