So im not the most experienced but you could take some filter media or a decoration or 2 from your your established aquarium to seed the new one with beneficial bacteria... if you do that new tank should cycle in a few days maybe instantly
I dont know much about plants so cant help you thier :)...
I agree with the above posters.. i would definetly skip the cichlids in that size tank my cichlids werent very happy in a 35 gallon and they were still really small like under 3 inches small...
Some of my favourite fish in my freshwater tanks are my pretty guppys they r so flashy :) either way...
Wow im jealous i want to start a saltwater aquarium really bad... anyways its looking good cant wait to see how it turns out

Nice article i want a salty tank real bad and a royal gramma is gonna be fish number 1 so atleast now ill be sure and get the gramma not a dottyback
