    35 hex startup

    Catfish for a 37 gallon

Well, in my 37 gallon tank I have 9 black neon tetras, 3 marbled hatchetfish, a guppy, and a clown pleco. I had some pygmy corys, but thy all gradually died. It wasn't one cause, but they didn't do well. The last couple, the pleco mightve bullied a bit. My question is, is there any catfish I...

    Big enough for glass catfish?

Ummm with glassies I'd say even 4 would be pushing it- and that would be for a 20 gallon. For some cool looking fish for a 10 gallon, maybe try harlequin rasboras or maybe pencilfish. Just some off-the-wall suggestions that are a bit different! Sent from my iPod touch using Aquarium Advice

    Corys

I'd think not, but it may be possible. But with panda cories to albino panda cories yes. Sent from my iPod touch using Aquarium Advice

    Never Had a Salt Tank

Thanks bigreds, this is just the type of thing I was looking for! Lol i doubt this will happen soon, but in the future I hope to have 3 or 4 freshwater tanks, and a nice nano reef like yours. The goby and shrimp are symbiotic right? Sent from my iPod touch using Aquarium Advice

    Never Had a Salt Tank

I've never had a saltwater tank, but it seems cool. My main worries: 1-The fish need more room since they are generally from coral reefs somewhere, so instead of the 10 or 20 gallon tank I actually have space for, I would need like 75 gallons to start out, and 2- salt is expensive, coral and...

    Budgeted Tank Finish

Thanks both of you guys. Did you say banana plant? I think I've seen those in substrate before, would that be okay??? I'll try swords, maybe another kind of crypt since my crypts are doing so well, java moss.... I'm also getting driftwood, so I can put a couple anubias on that and replace my...

    Stocking: what would you do

My black neon tetras are okay with bright lighting, with some floated pennywort. Be careful, but platys or guppies would do decent with high lighting, and as much as I really prefer different fish because they are so messy, thy are extremely hardy. If you have half a dozen or so platys, the...

    Zebra Danio getting brutish

Yeah, pass em on. Next time you cycle a tank, get the hardiest fish from your planned fish (I cycled with 4 black neon tetras) and old filter media, 8-12 days and it was done because of the old filter media. Sent from my iPod touch using Aquarium Advice

    Budgeted Tank Finish

This is a narrow leaf java fern i have on a piece of petrified wood. It grew super super fast, doubled in size in a month. Then it started on a weird melt thing and has holes all through it, even the new leaves start rotting while their still small. Anyone know why? Also, i still appreciate any...

How to get rid of bba and hair algae

If its possible, algae eaters do help. I heard Flying Foxes (may be large for 37 g) eat any algae, even bba. And my clown pleco has taken care of all the diatoms and green spot algae in my 37 gallon, but i haven't gotten any bba, thank goodness. Also, plants like hornwort and anacharis are...
