    Betta is Unhealthy

    1. I'm a bit tight on money right now, but I'll definitely look into that. 2. Noted. 3. I see. And I do have gravel cleaners. I think what happened was I only used them to drain out water for water changes, but never to actually clean out the dirt under the gravel. I'll definitely have to...

    Betta is Unhealthy

    1. No video yet, but I'll see that I can get one done as soon as I can. 2. I feed him mostly pellets, whilst feeding him bloodworms, daphinia, and mysis worms once or twice a week for a varied diet. 3. I have never seen his stools, to be quite honest. 4. No signs of pineconing, thankfully. 5...

    Betta is Unhealthy

Hello, it's been awhile since I made my last post. I got a fish. It's a koi plakat betta. He's been fine and healthy up until recently. I notice he now crashes at the bottom of the tank a lot, and he's even started to float on his side. I definitely suspect it's swim bladder disease. I...

I think my tank is cycled enough... now what?

Between my last post and now, I managed to get my fishless cycling tank to take down 1.5-1.75ppm of ammonia a day. However, it'll be 4 months since I started my cycle soon, and at this point I really wish to get my one betta fish now. I was wondering if it was safe enough to now, or if I should...

Tank Not Fully Cycled After 3 Months

I already use API Freshwater Masterkit actually. It is a cartridge type but the inside is big enough to add some media I believe. So if I got a sponge filter, would I just leave it in the tank? Or do I keep it separate somewhere?

Tank Not Fully Cycled After 3 Months

Still iffy about fish-in cycling, but I'll consider it as a last resort. Right now I'll see if I can use established media. Gonna try to ask my LFS later since I have to pick up new ammonia tests anyway. Not sure how set it up since I have the cartridge from my 5 gallon, a new cartridge that...

Tank Not Fully Cycled After 3 Months

I figured. Guess I'm just impatient. I would love to raise the temperature, though I am worried that 87 degrees may be too warm for my java ferns. I definitely am considering asking around for leftover media. I have thought about a fish-in cycle but I am not sure I want to risk making a fish...

Tank Not Fully Cycled After 3 Months

This will be a bit of a dozy to explain, so here goes. I am doing a fishless freshwater cycle. I originally had a 5 gallon tank that I started back on March 1st. I set it up, added water and added some fish food. I never saw ammonia come from the fish food, so I have since then used Fritz...
