it could look really nice. one thing to keep in mind is not to fill it up too much as betta can jump

pygmy puffers, bumble bee gobies or galaxy rasboras perhaps. Any of these species would make for an interesting species tank

a pipette of boiling water does the trick too

yeah, I had had a lot of larger set ups but moved house a little while ago and decided to just have the one tank in the house as the girlfriend lives here too :( in the previous tanks I never thought 2ft or 30" was enough so for this one I originally wanted 5 x 5 x 2 but my room didn't allow it :(

personally I would say no as your haps and aulonocara will be mainly in the water column if it was just mbuna then yes, this is just my opinion though
