i have a 1.5 year old tank with no nitrates etc. all my levels are good. i ordered some frags, and as a gift, i was sent 2 pounds of "reef grunge" to add to my sump. i dont have flat/bristle worms or aptasia or anything. should i add this stuff? please advise! joe

a pump shouldnt raise the temp at all. definitely consider getting a skimmer going somehow though...its a big plus. you'll notice a difference right away.

it wont make your tank look blue at all. 50/50's come out this kind of off white color. how long has your light setup been running? why is it being changed? is there something you're striving for or was there a problem? colors in the 14-20k range are your bluer colors...and the corallife bulbs...

sounds like you're going to under light yourself...especially if you have a reef. fish only will be ok...but you may want to consider throwing a couple actinics in there for asthetics.

one more thing to note... if it is a colony of say...star polyps...the creep will grow out and attach itself to the rock. It'll kill parts of the liverock that it covers. something to keep in mind...
