    Can you identify this fish?

Like in the description, it ate small colorful tetras, and had a fight with an angelfish, and won. Looks like this one is a bully.

Lighting for a 40g long aquarium

Hi guys! Been a while! I plan having a 40g breeder tank (48x13x16) With a height of 16 inches, and since space is an issue on top of tank, I plan to use t5ho istead of leds. Would 4x54w would be enough for sps?

    Getting the Sump Setup.

Hey! It is recommanded to use the same flow as the skimmer through the sump so if you use the seaclone 100 (295gph for maxijet 1200) you are ok! But, two things : 1st : I bought a Bubble Magus NAC skimmer because of the great reviews. I will install it next week and could give feedback about...

Best Dry Rock for new 40g reef tank

At my LFS, they sell Marco rocks and another brandless base rock. They sell the marco rocks not a lot cheaper than live rocks (5 bucks a pound while they sell live rock for 6-8 bucks). Those rocks are beautiful. They make nice caverns. Lots of holes in it. Perfect to fit coral plugs. The...

    Powerheads!

Hydor Koralia nano pumps are cheap and effective. For FOWLR, you nead at least 20 times your volume in GPH, and reef, at least 50 times your volume. It's better to have many pumps because rocks stop circulation if you use say only two. I'd use 4 pumps for FOWLR, 425 gph each, 6 for reef : 2x550...

    Bulbs for t5 ho!

They start to produce more red light as they go. you don't see it with naked eye (the 10000k ones especially, the actinic will just be less bright.)

    Bulbs for t5 ho!

They start to blink a little bit, but it's hard to see. You have to change them very 6-12 months. Brown algae and cyanobacteria appears otherwise. If I were you, I'd change one every 2 months.

    What size cpvc?

I'd use this pump, the outlet is 3/4" so you'd be ok. http://www.jlaquatics.com/product/wp-sd09000/Sedra+KSP-9000+Water+pump.html But if you look at this 600 gph overflow : CPR C-Siphon Aquarium Overflow - CS90 Deluxe (600GPH) The bulkhead size is 1"
