Newbie: JBJ 12 gallon nano build

It's a stomatella snail. a good hitchhiker from LR. they reproduce like crazy and love climbing under frag disks that are barely glued on :banghead: I had 2 in my 12G, now there's a good 15-20 tiny specs of baby versions.

Newbie: JBJ 12 gallon nano build

as long as it's raw, uncooked yea go for it. it doesn't even have to be defrosted. you can peel it or not. either way it will rot away creating ammonia

Newbie: JBJ 12 gallon nano build

no distilled is fine, but it'll be cheaper down the road ot get a RODI unit since you'll probably catch the bug and want to go bigger soon lol. the MJ900 is perfect for the NC12 drop in an uncooked shrimp into a filter bag or directly in your tank and let it start to rot. it'll provide the...

how's he going to keep it cool tho? hardy or not fish in 85degree+ water for long periods of time aren't going to be happy. same with corals. you're talking about putting these things into a car/truck assuming with air conditioning and then what removing when you stop to eat & then removing when...

    Digital water testing

There's a new item called Seneye that monitors a few different things via replaceable slides. Some of my local club members use it(it's also a PAR meter so thats always nice) some say accurate some say not. I don't know much about it yet so I can't recommend or not. just figured I'd let you know...

    New 75gal

yea you don't "need" MH or LEDs for soft corals. you can easily get away with a 4 or 6 bulb fixture. I like the look of LEDs & also recommend the ebay dimmable fixtures. but thats just MHO

    New 90g reef ready tank

if it's going to be a quick cycle run the skimmer right at the start. it needs a break in period anyways. if you're doing 100% dry rock and a dead shrimp/ammonia I'd leave it alone for a few weeks since the cycle could take a month.

    75 gallon reef build

not really. they're just prone to nipping. like I said it's not a 100% chance but it's good enough that if the dwarf angel isn't a MUST that you should probably think about skipping it.

    75 gallon reef build

warning coral beauty picks at corals. not every one does but you've got a 50/50(some would say worse) of a dwarf angel picking at corals
