    ATO recommendations

I can only speak on the Tunze Osmolator which is at the top of the price range when it comes to ATOs. Operation has been flawless thus far. Only had one instance where the pump got airlocked (at least thats what I think). Otherwise its been the best investment in my setup thus far.

    Carey's Final Reef Upgrade- 180g

Yeah, I feel you on the price point thing. Jebao is definitely offering a product for those of us that are a bit lighter in the wallet. Plus I've read up on the Jebao pumps being controllable on the Neptune controllers with programming similar to Vortechs. Not sure about RKEs though.

    Carey's Final Reef Upgrade- 180g

I'm no expert but I started out with an MP10WES on my 40B and was satisfied until I got a Jebao WP25 two weeks ago. Got turned off because it was way too powerful, then I started reading about running it at 12V vice 24V. Lets just say my Vortech is getting a new home to the highest bidding...

    40B Reef Tank

Well, just thought I'd drop an update. The first firefish I bought was written off as expired since I was never able to find his body. So I have since bought another one that took about four days before he decided to come out to get some food during feeding time. Tank is coming along well so...

    Pistol shrimp

I cannot answer on the compatibility of the blenny and the watchman as far as them getting along. I do however have a Randalls Goby/Randalls Pistol Shrimp Combo and a Cleaner Shrimp in my 40B. The pistol shrimp has made two appearances since I put him in the tank......I can hear him snapping...

10 gallon nano build need advice!!

Awesome tank. It's amazing how much difference having a sump makes it. I started out with a 20L with an AC50 and maintenance was such a hassle. Now I have a 40B with a 20L sump and it's heaven. You get to hide all the goodies down there and water changes are cake because you don't have to...

    Sump for 20 gallons tank???

In regards to the Tangs...you can scratch all of them off your list. You would need at least a 75 Gallon tank to keep the yellow tang and then it goes up from there.

Update/I just turned in my hawkfish and copperband butterfly for a yellow tailed blue

I have just read thru this entire post and watched everyone beat the dead horse. It was like seeing a train wreck about to happen and not looking away. I too have a 40B and use Live Aquaria and advice I've gotten here to make informed decisions when stocking my tank. Some people have to get...

    1st sw tank-40 breeder

Return pumps, I have only had experiece with Mags and Eheims. Eheim won hands down. Mags of course are cheaper but their motors are not synchronous and tend to run louder than Eheims or Sicce. After running a MAG 5 that refused to quiet down, I went to the Eheim Compact 2000 which comes with...

    1st sw tank-40 breeder

Welcome to the salty side Dan. Hopefully I can help steer you in the right direction as I've only been in the game for a little under a year now but have spents thousands of man hours doing research. In regards to powerheads, Koralias offer a pretty good bang for the buck and I believe two...

    Innovative marine 16 gallon

Your budget might be a factor as far as what pieces you end up getting. I have the Tunze Osmolator (199.99) which is at the top end of the price range when it comes to ATO's but it's been worth the investment for me. Tunze Osmolator Nano which runs for $99.99 but you lose some of the bells and...
