The cycle is created by a natural biological system , you need to add live rock and sand . It would take about 30 days . It is complete when you test shows 0 for nitrates and ammonia

The tank won't cycle with just water I it ! You have to add the sand a rock!

You will get foam from the salt/water mix . Try putting some of you rock into it?

Daft Q did use RO water ? Did you check the TDS ?

When I said water change , this is done by hovering the sand then obviously replacing the water with fresh. But I will reduce the feed. I'm also adding phitoplancton , should I stop this ? Thanks for the help

Just tested it again both 0 not even a trace Using Salifert

Both phosphates and nitrates are at 0
