    No that's what I meant, the "bio filter" of my current 5 lbs of live rock. I don't currently have a filter of any kind. I want a hob to supplement my 110gph pump, break up surface tension.

    Updates but first a question: is 1-2mm aragonite sand too big for a substrate? I'm upgrading to a 10 gallon already and bought a bag of that by mistake, not tiny sugar sized ( will be mixed with my sand already in my tank though). That too big or is it ok? Updates to come just in a hurry

    Since I got my new par38 it seems to be slowly springing to life! Little "hairs" are coming off of it with little green dots at the top of them ( I think they're green), with conical tubes coming out of the middle of each "circle".     you would be correct sir! the "coral" in question however happens to be the reddish brown circular thing in the lower middle of the picture. since switching from my 10w 50/50 to my 18watt par 38 trupop LED fixture though this thing has started to extend what i think are polyps and get white dots...

    just got my par 38 from ledtric.com, and i love it! so do my corals! my halemida dont seem to care for it though, their color isnt nearly as green, but i got the trupop one with the violet bulbs, and my corals do POP! only problem is try to take pictures, it looks way too blue to do my tank...

    regular they say, just like a normal lightbulb. i would upgrade to a shop grade screw in socket though just in case.
