I have the same set up on my 20g, I like the ability to alternate changing media on each filter and the security of having a back up already running. Plus the Penguin and AC have the uptake tube on opposite sides so you get better circulation IMO.
After adding plants to my tank I got a nice pond snail infestation. Instead of freaking out and over reacting I've embraced it and just crush them up when I see them. My neons love to swim around and eat up the snail chunks. Not really sure if that helps you though.
You could always just move the mollies to the 20 and leave the betta in the 10 by himself.
Max size on a molly is 4-5" so 4 in a 20 should work out well, plus if they are by themselves you could make it a brackish tank.
Nope, I even checked the bottom of the filter for leaks and checked the carpet underneath and no water leaked out. Maybe there was some kind of blockage I couldn't see. Luckily I still had my old Penguin filter.
I have an AquaClear 50 filter on my tank and I came home after work the other night and the motor was completely burned out and the filter was totally dry. There was no obstruction in the uptake tube. Any ideas how this could happen? I mean, if the motor just gave out wouldn't the filter...
NO FISH SHOULD BE KEPT IN A CONFINED SPACE WITH LOW OXYGEN!
If I stuffed you into a port-o-potty and sealed it shut, you could live for quite a while as long as I occasionally dropped in some food and water for you. Would you be happy and healthy in there?
I have two male dwarf gouramis in my 20g and they don't bother each other at all. The first few days they chased each other a little, but now they have established their territory and they get along fine. They just divided the tank in half and they both tend to stay on their own side. Maybe...
They are very different fish...
