How can I tell if a moray eel, any species, is male or female?

As long as we are on this subject, can anyone tell me why hippo tang prices have gone so high?....i use to see them as juveniles ( 1" - 2" ) for no more than $30. now i see the same one for as much as $70. is it because of the Nemo movie?...just very curiuos

I've seen people with 50g tanks that have a pink tail, a niger, yellow tang, a snowflake eel, and a lepeord eel together and they said that nothing ever happens between the triggers and others. the only thing he has had a problem with are the eels are semi - aggressive towards each other...

would it be possible to have a tank with just eels? i was wondering about one of each: a snowflake, green moray, lepeord, gold, and maybe a dragon eel. how would you guys set this up and what size tank would you think would be good?.....i was thinking a 150g minimum with some LR and some PVC...

thank you everyone, i think it could be HLLE. the trigger is the nicest one of the crowd, funny as it may sound, the clowns are the meanest of the tank. :| the puffer just mimics everyone and looks at us like we are his pets :mrgreen:

no, this is a tank i have at work. my boss and i have a 75g FO tank and all there is are two purculas, a porcupine puffer, a niger trigger, and the yellow tang.....i've checked all the levels and everything seemed to be doing ok. we run a hang-on wet-dry with skimmer in the back with a 330...

My yellow tang is starting to "deteriorate"(sp?)....his forehead is starting to look pretty bad and fins are starting to deteriorate, slowly but looking surely......never had this happened.....please help.

This might sound like a stupid question but i've never used LR before, so here it is. Does LR ever "die", and if so, how can you tell?
