    vacuuming planted tank

That's not true. Just because you don't have a high tech tank doesn't mean you shouldn't be doing large water changes.

    Plants to lower nitrates

What other fish do you have in the tank?

    Help despararely needed !

How long have you had the tank? If you have both ammonia and nitrites than your tank is not cycled which is why your fish are dying
  8. phishiephishie

    Planting tips amd types?

That makes no sense at all you can add as many plants at once as you want

    Melting Plants?

Plants will definitely do just fine if given less than 10 hours of light. The longer you run lights the higher the chance you have of running into algae issues. Are you dosing any ferts?

    10 gal adventure

5 what? And unless the fish pass away I don't think you should constantly be switching things up

    10 gal adventure

Otos are a schooling fish and prefer to be in schools. What fish do you have in the tank now? A 10 gallon is rather small and is pretty limited to the amount of fish that can be in it.

How do you know the "right" amount for water changing?

I've never had any issues when doing large water changes once per week. I've found that both fish and plants love them

    Snail ID

Pond snails wont eat your plants unless the leaf on the plant is dead or dying so you really have nothing to worry about. They are completely harmless and in my opinion an essential piece to a healthy successful tank
