Neither unit says anything about having a fan. Do you think they will run hot? Previously, I had two 40W fluorescent bulbs (no fan); will the 216W T5s cost a lot more to run?
The unit only has a single power-cord but says "Individual Timer Compatible (NOT Included)." Any ideas how that...
Hi,
I need to replace the lights for my 55 gallon FOWLR. What is everyone's thoughts on these fixtures on eBay?
108W - $73.90
216W - $134.90
They seem pretty cheap so I'm not sure about the quality. I'm also open to other suggestions. I might step up to some basic corals at some point, so...
Hello,
I have a 20 gallon long glass tank. I recently put a chip in the outside corner when moving it. Do you still think I can safely fill the tank with water? If not, can it be resealed?
Thanks!
Patrick
Yes, I am definitely going to order the legs with the light. Sounds like I'll avoid the glass canopy for now. My only concern with using the egg crate or no top is the water tends to evaporate a lot faster. Well that, and I'm sure our cat would love no top.
Thanks,
Patrick
What do you guys think of drilling holes in the glass top vs using the egg crate?
Also, any other input on the lights themselves would be great. So far they sound like a good deal.
Thanks,
Patrick
Hi,
I am starting a 20 gallon long reef tank and would like to know your opinions on using the Dual Satellite Compact Fluorescent Fixture? It is 130w and costs $134.29 (Compact Fluorescent Aquarium Lighting: Dual Satellite Compact Fluorescent Fixtures). Is it recommended to use a glass canopy...
This happens to my yellow tang too. I've had him for a year and a half now. He seems to be doing fine; eating well and actively swimming. So I wouldn't worry too much.
Patrick
Thanks, my original post was wrong. The tanks are running perpendicular to the joists, which is why each one sits on at least 3 joists. Are both your tanks on the same floor?
Patrick
Thanks for the prompt replies.
My estimates also considered the weight of the stand, tank and misc items like filters. Although I hope I am high.
The turtle tank is against an outside wall so I assume it must be load bearing. The saltwater tank is against a wall that separates the dining...
Hi,
I have a 55g saltwater tank and a newly filled 75g water turtle tank in my dining room. I'd like to if you guys think the floor is OK to support these.
The saltwater tank has 100lbs of live rock and 50lbs of sand, so perhaps it weights 700lbs. My roommate's turtle tank is filled with...
I have been using a Prizm for over a year in my 55gal FOWLR. It certainly works but it is loud and I have my doubts about how effective it is verse other skimmers.
I would spend the extra money and get a Bak-Pak or Remora C. I wish I did.
