Rivercats,
Yes the algae strands do have a slight green tinge to them and some are quite long. Yesterday I did about a 40% wc and started the 3 day blackout. About I week ago I did use h202 and it didn't really seem to help. Thanks for the info should I do another wc after the blackout still? Thanks
Hi Ive had a 5.5 planted tank since around December and things have been growing well. But ever since March I've been seeing this type of algae start to grow all around me tank. I think it is some type of thread algae and it is spreading fairly quickly. Can anyone tell me what it is and how to...
I probably ended up spending $30-40 in all for plants. However the most of the plants just took some time to grow in. It took a few weeks until the plants started exploding with growth. Just keep up with the tank and your plan and your tank should look great.
My 5.5 Gallon after from the beginning and present. It really colored up and grew in nicely (It looked so bad at first haha).
Specs: 5.5 gallon tank, floramax substrate, finnex ray 2 16 inch, and top fin 10 gallon filter.

Those do indeed look like aquatic plants. The second picture looks like a green ozelot sword, and the last picture seems to be some sort of fern, maybe Java fern
