Why are children discouraged from fish keeping? I've had fish since i was 6 and took good care of them. My ghost knife lived 5 years. I got a 50 gallon when i was 8 and haven't had a single death in the tank yet! I don't understand why children are told not to get fish until they are older. I...

Forgot to add My tank is 50 gal. It has 1 ghost shrimp 2 snails 2 guppies 10 neon tetras 2 platies 3 serpae tetra various plants and hiding spots, 3 zebra danio and a marble danio and it is lightly planted

So i bought a betta before. It was a red female and very pretty and i liked her :) I also bought aggresive botia loaches (I NEED TO RESEARCH BEFORE BUYS OMG) that nipped her fins. I want to try a betta again, but i added more fish since last time. I added 3 serpae tetras. Is that okay? I also...

My loaches were very aggresive and inactive, i don't know. You can't go wrong with cardinal or neon tetras. I like assorted guppies, too.

I wouldn't get a 10 gallon. imo small aquariuams are not that fun. I would aim for 20 or up. African dwarfs are awesome.

Hello person reading this thread. My long fin leopard danio is pregnant ( I'm positive it's female and pregnant, bellies don't bulge 5 days straight.) There are no other long fin leopard danios in the tank, but there are zebra danios, which are related. Will this make a crossbreed or something...

So i recently bought 5 neon tetras, some snail free plants, 2 guppys, and a nerite+gold mystery snail, and recently witnessed what looked to be baby trumpet snails (Spiral shell, not rounded like nerite and mysteries) . Should i be concerned? There are only around 5. I don't want an infestation...

Definately do puffers! Puffers are really cool and should be considered. Watch their teeth tho.

I have a 50 gallon long, with a 50-75 gal filter and 7 plants and plenty of hiding space. I have 10 neon tetras, 2 zebra danios, 1 long finned leopard danio, 1 marble danio, 3 serpae tetra, 2 platies, and 2 guppies. Do i have any more space for fish.

I would remove the two in there (Just imo) I say you should definately remove the pleco. They get very big. The molly could go imo, mine never did well in freshwater, and the trauma of their little babies getting eaten hurt (Yours might survive in a heavy planted tank) I love the shrimp idea...

Hi there. I'm trying to incorporate lots of colors in my tank. it is a 50 gal with 3 serpae tetra, 5 neon tetras, 3 zebra danio, 1 pearl danio, 2 sunburst platy. I want to get green colors and purple colors. Are there purple fish or green fish compatible with my tank?
