I have a 10 gallon tank. Two mollies, three guppies, one platy, one ghost shrimp, and one small 1.5' algae eater. I am not sure the name of the breed of the algae eater, I just know that it is not a plecostamus (not sure of spelling). I am noticing some algae buildup on the edge of the tank...
I have two guppies that seem to constantly harass the platy. They follow the platy endlessly and always stay in close proximity. The platy clearly looks annoyed. Any ideas?
I just noticed that there are snails in my tank. I remember when we went to a store that an employee had mentioned that there was possibly a snail in the bag, but thought that she got it out... she was wrong and it must have accidentally got into the tank. Should I be concerned? I am going to...
Started a new tank nearly a month ago. Thought I was near the end of cycling.
Readings 02/05 pH = 7.2, Ammonia NH3/NH4 = .25 ppm, Nitrate NO3 = 5.0 ppm
Readings 02/09 pH = 6.8, Ammonia NH3/NH4 = 0 ppm, Nitrate NO3 = 10.0 ppm
Are these fairly normal readings? Should I be concerned about...
I am using a test kit. According to the color chart, my ammonia level is closer to 0 ppm... I just refuse to believe that there is no ammonia level. My test tube is nearly clear with a yellow tint.. which according to the chart is 0 ppm.
