I am thinking of trying a CO2 system in my planted tank. How will it affect my fish and the number that can live in the tank. The reason I ask is because I am wondering if the CO2 system will cause the amont of disolved oxygen in the water to drop too low.
There is no risk. The flame would have to be held in the same spot for several minutes. Also water is such an excellent heat-sink any heat on the glass is transferred to the water very quickly. I pass the flame along the glass at about 1ft. per second.

My planted tank has had a low pH (6.4) and my Amazon Swords have been suffering. Can someone recommend a product or solution to raising the pH to an acceptable level?
They are bug like and approximately .5mm, pretty darn small. Tank inhabitants are a selection of tropical fish community fish and I have already seen a decrease in their numbers since I cut back the younger lily pads.
