sorry for the late reply, I was on holiday haha.. the tank doesn't have a heater, its a cold water tank, thats why there are so many gold fish! I dont know any other fish to put in there that are cold water. If I was to heat the tank, water changes would be a nightmare, we're draining...

after doing a heap of research and many nights thinking about it, I've finally purchased a cannister filter and managed to place it so it doesnt look _that_ bad around the tank. My last concern is, should the intake be at the bottom of the tank, and the output at the top? or does it not matter...

extender? this tank is 1.5m high :( I thought the wider part of the gravel vac is supposed to be just under the water line for it to work. the highest one I can find is 66cm..

I need another 200L worth of filters. I have a 640L tank and I am unable to use a cannister filter as I have no where to put it. I have already two internal fluval 4 power filters running with only 4 fish in there. Its a new tank so I think I have a little bit of time before I need some more...

thanks alot for that, thats a huge help. I dont have a nitrate test kit, I only have a PH, hardness and ammonia test kit hehe. I also dont have dechlorinator, might have to get that. One last question about my tank, its 640L, and its about 6foot high, all I have for filtration is 2 of these...

nah no food fell out of it, as when I pulled it out the thing was still full. I tested ammonia levels and it was in between 0 and .25 ppm, very low. That could be because the tank is new and the bilogical filters haven't kicked into gear yet? WHen cycling the water, do I just re-add tap water...
