Hello all, I've been planning on setting up a puffer tank for sometime, and finally got a tank & stand on sale. Its bigger then I was expecting, 30 Gal cube. I would like to hear some stocking suggestions. I have kept DP and Fig8s before, and DP are a must. I would like to hear some stocking...

I doubt it since they normally eat much smaller pods. I have had pepermint shrimp go missing before, I personally blamed the emerald crabs.

Well said. There seems to always be a flavor of the month in this hobby. In the end everyone needs to do what is best for then. Most importantly, they need to have a tank that matches their dedication to the hobby.

If you have a sump why do you have a HOB? Why not do the filtration down there. I can't tell those a bubbles,but since that rock is right in front of something, I'm going to still have to blame that.

Is the water falling from the HOB into the tank? Raising the water level to the level of the outflow will generally stop the bubbles, or at least keep them on the surface. If the water is falling into the tank then I think you are out of luck.

Generally when you hear about the bad bubbles it is becasue they are in your filtration system. They still are not normal for a tank. Just to confirm, is this a SW tank? You are correct that bubbles coming out of the sand are generally by products of bacteria growth but they shouldn't be...
