    Killing a Fish...

If you do choose to freeze, start out with water from the tank, so that there's no initial stress from water parameter changes, and place it in the freezer. I'm still going to boil, though, because it's over lightening quick, literally. The key to ending distress immediately is to destroy...

    Killing a Fish...

I can't speak for fish, but a severed human head can stay alive and conscious for several seconds. A human can also survive for several minutes in freezing water.

    Killing a Fish...

Nah, if the water is boiling, the fish will twitch for literally about 250 milliseconds then immediately go stiff and turn white from cooking. I can't think of anything quicker. I start the water boiling, then go net the fish, leaving the net inside of the tank to minimize stress. The water...

Complete novice who needs A LOT of help

I'll let the experts go into specific details. The only thing I'll add is to feed very lightly every other day for a few weeks after the move, and plan on spending ALOT of time reading here and the other reef forums over the next few months. You'll do fine if your heart is in it.

Finally building fuge/sump check out my plans :)

The rubbermaid is going to bulge like a mofo, and baffles will not work in it. A 40 long might fit, but a 30 long definately would. A 3/4" plywood box and a gallon of pool paint would fix you up, too.

    Killing a Fish...

When I'm sure that one is not going to make it, I boil a pot of water. It's over in about a quarter of a second. Flushing is so wrong. The fish can live for hours or days that way.

Do fish Play? Or is my Tang just and idiot!

Do you notice the little white marks by your Tang's tail? Those are blades that can extend and slice up an enemy. Tangs are also known as Surgeonfish, for this reason. Your Tang is telling your Clowns to keep distance, and showing off his wares to enforce the threat.

    Feeding Schedule

Feed them at different times each day to avoid them being friendly at the same time each day. If they're used to being fed at 5:00, then they'll only be interested in you at 5:00. If they don't know when it's coming....well, you get the idea.

    Patience.......................

If you plan on adding a sump/fuge at some point, it would be better to do it now if you plan on using an internal overflow. If you're comfortable with a HOB overflow, then no worries down the road.

    mag drive ???

I recall reading somewhere that Mags are prone to leak if run inline. I also read somewhere that a bead of sealant can be run between the pump body and impellor housing to fix this. I keep thinking automotive form a gasket was used, but that can't be right. Maybe aquarium silicone would...

    Refugium + DSB

Pay particular attention to fishtender's post with regard to an active DSB. You'll need critters to keep the DSB stirred up.
