I've just upgraded to a 85gallon/320litre tank and would like to add some more fish. The tank has good filtration and a decent amount of wood, rocks and plants.
Current stock:
2 firemouth
2 blue acara
6 conga tetra
1 pictus
1 bristlenose
The additional fish I'd possibly like to add are:
Yeah I'll reuse the substrate in the new tank, I don't have enough in my current tank to use it in the new tank.
I'll make sure to clean it as well as I can before using it but that probably won't be much more than a rinse if I'm honest. I'm not really set up to have both tanks sitting around...
Yeah I don't have another tank to out the fish in temporarily (I knew I should've keep my small back up tank)
Well you've made it sound easier than I had initially thought it would be.
Also I should've said the new tank also comes with substrate which I will be using and the tank I'm getting...
Sorry I should have stated I was after a more detailed explanation. For instance what do I do with the fish during the process as I'm sure leaving them in the tank while emptiyng it and moving decorations will cause a large amount of stress and possible injure/kill them. Also do I use as much of...
I've been wanting to upgrade to a bigger aquarium, I've currently got a 200l and wanting a 350-400l but the process of moving everything to a new tank seems kind of daunting.
It's a tropical tank with 12 fish, running a canister filter. The tank I'm thinking of getting comes with a canister...
So last night I added quite a large piece of drift wood to my tank, all I did to prepare it was rinse it off as told by my lfs. I glued 3 java fern to it with aquarium safe glue, ethyl cyanoacrylate.
Now I've just come out this morning and every single fish has died besides my bristlenose...
I've had 2 neon tetras recently die, the first one seemed normal and just randomly died, the second was quite swollen and struggling to breath and died after a day or so. Now another tetra seems to be swelling and struggling to breath too.
I'll be honest I've obviously got some issues in my...
I thought maybe one was worn since I've had it for a while and it was a cheapie but yeah it is fair increase from 17 to 31 and it also would drop to maybe 14 at night. I'll see how I go with the ich at 30⁰c and maybe consider 2x300 watt heaters if need be.
I've got a 200l tank and I'm currently trying to deal with a (at the moment) minor case of ich. I'm trying to get my tank up to 31⁰C as I've been told this helps but even with two 200w heaters turned right up I'm only at 30⁰C. The room temperature eight now is 17⁰C. Should 2 200w heaters be...
The filter is plenty big enough, can do up to a 400l tank. Yeah the pleco is only about 3 inches, I'm not sure how you measure an angel lol but it's probably about half grown
Is my 200l tank too crowded?
My fish:
1 Angel
1 bolivian butterfly
1 apistograma
1 pleco
2 blue rams
4 cherry barbs
8 neon tetras
I plan on upgrading to a larger tank in the future but not for a while.
I should add that none of the fish are fully grown.
Hi I've got a newly set up (2 months) 200ish litre tank and I'm wondering how many fish I can have. Now I know there's hundreds of different answers but a rough idea would be nice.
The tank currently consists of 4 neon tetras, 4 cherry barbs, 2 angel fish, 1 male dwarf gourami and 1 bristlenose...
