    Sick Discus

Wow, ok. It sounds like this may be my problem. It just started out of no where. To the QT tank they go. My curiosity still remains for the infected tank. Once they get out of QT, I question wether the display will still have the possible disease or if a follow tank can support it. This tank is...

    Sick Discus

My discus have all of a sudden been getting sick. It looks bacterial, but pimafix and melafix is not helping. Any suggestions would be great. My rams, loachs, Cory's, and pleco don't have this issue. Temp 82 Ammonia - 0 Nitrite - 0 Nitrate - 0 PH - 7.2

It is a 40g fluval Osaka. I have a large log soaking in a tub for this tank as well. Still leaking tannins. I have a 110g ready to go in my garage for when these guys get bigger! :)

    Zebra pleco

Thanks for the advice! A pair of Adonis plecos would be great. I had a gold nugget before my Adonis and traded him out. I love the Adonis! I will look into MFK, sounds like a unique experience!

    Platys had babys

Well, just went home to remove her and all of the baby's are gone. Ugh, not even 30 minutes from her having them to eating them. Lol

    Platys had babys

Ok, there are only 3 babies in the breeder so far and she looks pretty chunky still. What is an average amount of babies from live bearers?

    Platys had babys

The mother and the baby's are in the breeder net, separate from the other platys. Do I need to separate the mother from the baby's.

    Zebra pleco

I have 2 40b in my garage right now. I think they would be great for this. Aquabid wants 1k for 6 of them. I want to try and purchase a breeding pair I think. Wonder if any breeders would be interested in working a deal. If anything, I have a mail Adonis pleco, another one to try.

    Easiest plants to care for?

Anubis, hornwort are two if the easiest I can think of. They are so hardy, You could grow them in a toilet bowl.

    Switching to a canister filter

IMO, you should be fine to just change them out. Every surface in the tank is home to beneficial bacteria and will serve to repurpose any bio media inside the canister. As long as your tank has been running smoothly for a couple of months, you have nothing to worry about.

    Zebra pleco

I hear ya. I have a 140g reef as well, shipping coral and fish has been a scare, but I have not lost anything yet. Plus, most places offer DoA garentees. I cannot seem to find the we page selling them. Hmmm, I may need to do a ton more research!

    Zebra pleco

True, they have a 7 day guarantee. They need a water sample for any fish over 100$ I think. They do not seem to needy, just no other bottom feeders, PH around 7.0, etc. I would need to accurately sex it and attempt to find another. One issue, I have never seen one for sale before.

    Zebra pleco

My local LFS has a zebra pleco for $250.00. I am really on edge about picking it up. I already have an Adonis. Ugh, do any of you think it is worth it? The fish is extinct in the wild from my understanding and there are very few breeders out there.
