I have never heard of that. The lps told me to soak all my utensils in a bucket of hot water & aqua salt. She also mentioned the bleach & water dip, but said I would have to rinse, rinse, and then rinse again.

I lost 4 Bettas this weekend. I think I crossed-contaminated my tanks over the past 2wks by using the same fish net & gravel siphon. One of my bettas started acting lathargic and by me not quarantining him and using one net for two tanks, I believe I spread his germs to the others causing a sad...

What everyone said on here is definitely true, Bettas are a gateway fish and having one as a community fish is soley based on the individual. Case in point, I have 10 bettas and I just added 6 neon tetras to my 10gal I just configured to hold 3 of em, my red veil tail, Tina(long story), chased...

I've heard that Blue Gourms tend to be semi-aggressive and golds are just yellow versions of them so that makes sense. Also the male Blue Paradise, they say tend to be aggressive towards eachother. I'll revamp my list yet again if need be and only keep 2-3 Dwarf Gouramis.

The tank measures 42L x 13W x 13D. Yeah Mollies or Swords are cool and if so I'll get 1 male and rest females just different colors.

Thanks Glen I really appreciate the tips. I can do a Gouramie tank with no problem, now all I have to do is persuade my wife in letting me take over the corner in the living room where she has all the pictures on a table. Prime aqaurium real estate! lol

@tony, the Mollies/Platys/Swords are thrown in there for color contrast. I can do all swords or all mollies, it doesn't matter, I just want a varity of colors. I know they'll all in the same family that's why I grouped them together.

@ Glen, I figured Gouramis would be too big for the cats that's why I chose them(plus I've always liked Gouramis). I can do the whole tank of just different types of Gouramis (Sun, Moon, Pearl, (2)Red, (2)Dwarf (7total) then (2) Pictus Catfish, would that work?
