I have been plagued with algae in my 180 gallon tank untill recently. I think too much fertilizing for the amount of plants.
We recently added a UV light and 2 days later algae is gone.
Our tank is only 2 months old now. Did you have any new tank issues? How often and how much do you fertilize?
You have the same tank that i am working on. All the plants are in place and I have all the fish other then the discus. Looking forward to thier introduction.
Are you doing co2 injection?
Try some roseafolia renikii. ( not sure if I spelled that right). I have some and they are a stunning plant and it seems pretty easy to grow. They grow rather tall and they have some red and a magenta coloring. (stunning plant)
Hello all you fish fanatics out there. I am planning to do a planted tank with discus as my feature fish. My question is will LEDs generate the right lighting to grow healthy plants. My rank is 30 inches deep.

What ever way I go I know it's going to cost me. I was hoping to avoid a chiller as well as higher hydro bill. Price you got to pay if you want to play. I have no problem paying for quality. I believe it's better and maybe even cheaper in the long run.
