what is your ph level? I would use seachem neutral regulator it works really to getting your p.h. level to 7.0. imo it is a lot better than api ph up.

never had any problem with paraguard staining silicone on inside of tank. it will not discolor your water either.

cloudy water imo 9 mollies is a lot for a 20 gallon tank which could be one of the reasons for cloudy water poor filtration is another. I would try depending how cloudy water is more frequent water changes and I would use just prime and stability and keep checking your water parameters.

low maintence freshwater fish try cutting back on feedings to once a day or every other day so it will not foul up water as bad. also from my experience I find that certain livebearers will foul up water more than egglayers..

take the aquaclears apart and give them a good cleaning if that does not work you can try changing the impellers and get brand new ones.

i agree beneficial bacteria will not establish in 24 hours i would wait a week at minium before adding any kind of fish to your 12 gallon tank.
