- i am very new to the fish world aside from when i was a child with little goldfish in a bowl. my boyfriend and i have just recently moved in together and he has a 50gallon tank. he had a freshwater tank up until his catfish died recently (we think he swallowed a stone) and he gave his other fish to his friend that owns a fish store. he now is going to start a saltwater tank. he is very good with maintaining a great environment in his tank, but i am extremely uneducated when it comes to the environment, what fish can live with what fish, and what to feed them.
