    Tank and Gravel Question

Hi all I will be moving soon and that includes my 125 gallon tank. A bit of back note, I bought this tank used 3 years ago. All fish have been living in it for at least the last year if not longer. I use to AC120 (I think, the largest HOB aquaclear has). No issues with any filtration or...

    Aggressive Green Severum

Excellent, thank you. I caught some of the babies and put them in one of the floating safety things for small babies. Is it better to let them out and let the parents take care of them?

    Aggressive Green Severum

Turns out - the severum was pregnant, arrived home to many babies last night!

    Aggressive Green Severum

Hi all I have posted a lot about stocking lately. And am having some new issues. I haven't purchased any fish as of lately, although, I am looking as I know I need some dithers. For the past 5 years, my blood parrot has been the queen of the tank. Lately, tables have turned. One of my green...

    Updated Stocking

Hi all I had previously posted this: https://www.aquariumadvice.com/forums/f12/stocking-changes-need-some-help-380927.html Where I was debating rehoming some fish and updating stocking. However, I have decided not to rehome anything. the tank is a 5ft long 125 gallon. I currently have 1 x...

Stocking changes - need some help

Hi all So, I have not gone through with any changes yet. I’m debating keeping the fish, I don’t want to part. What stocking could I still add. Perhaps some more rainbows, the RTBS, some additional severums, and the barbs as dithers, which would help with the cichlids being more comfortable...

Stocking changes - need some help

Great, thanks! I am going to try and find the black ruby barbs, I really like their look. Are they fin nippers similar to a tiger barb, or are they a bit more mellow?

Stocking changes - need some help

Fantastic. Thanks for all the help. I think my stocking will be as follows: Rehome severums and rainbow cichlids. Add: 1 x BP 6 x Angelfish 1 x RTBS 3 x Bosemani Rainbows 6-12 x large bodied tetras or barb This is in addition to my one bristlenose pleco, 1 x BP and 3 x bosemani rainbows...

Stocking changes - need some help

Thank you so much! Sounds like Corys may be out. The BP isn't overly boisterous, but she does like to re-arrange everything. Water hardness is 117ppm and PH is about 7.5. Perhpas I will do 1 additional BP, 6 angelfish as suggested, another 3 rainbows and then a handful of larger body tetra...

Stocking changes - need some help

Thank you - I will certainly add more rainbow fish then. Do RTBS like to be single or alone, and 4 angel fish would be fine? Would there be a fish similar to a neon tetra that would be appropriate, something that could do a decent group of schools? Or perhaps more rainbows would be...

Stocking changes - need some help

Hi all I have a 5ft 120 gallon tank. Currently housed in it are as follows: 1 x blood parrot (female) 1 x bristlenose pleco 3 x rainbow bosemani fish 2 x rainbow cichlids 3 x green severums I am looking to rehome the rainbow cichlids and green severums, as they are often hiding (I hear I...

    New tank, no sump?

Hi all So, I’ve been wanting a saltwater tank for years (since 2005), but never took the plunge. I’ve had freshwater for decades, probably since at least 2000, and a recent trip to hawaii has really made me wanna take the jump again. I will ask more questions, as I’m sure there are some...

    Fish TB?

The pleco was added but that was in July. I do not think the back issues started until about a month-six weeks ago. I thought it was nothing until the fish started looking a bit rough, which is where I am at today.

    Fish TB?

Okay, that is good to now. I really appreciate the help!!

    Fish TB?

Thanks Aiken - there is definitely a loss of colour. I have not noticed loss of scales, but the fish seems a bit ragged looking. I have not noticed any lesions on the platy, but the severums and cichlids have had bumps - I assumed they were swimming into things (they seem to be more skittish)...
