    yes but i am not seeing any increase of ammonia after 2 weeks of adding it which means something is up and i want to know what so i can resolve it. Thanks for your advice though.

    OK today i tested again and ammonia and nitrite were at 0ppm and nitrates still at 10ppm after adding a total of 3 shrimps now and transferring over filter media from 2 well established tanks at the start of this week. any suggestions? or am I just being too impatient

So far ive sqeezed the filter emdia and added a shrimp if i can find unused pantyhose sinc ei don't own any my self lol ill put soem sand in but i can transwer rocks over and filter media....man its been awhile since i last set up a tank.thanks for all...

    I think i may add one more shrimp and maybe try seeding my tank a b it more with sand from other tanks and rocks etc.

    in the past week i have added 2 dead shrimp into the tank(frozen shrimp) and Im starting to tthink it isnt cycled either because this has never happened before im just wondering where the nitrates are coming from.

    Nitrites are at 0ppm as well as ammonia and nitrates are at 10ppm, as stated earlier my tap water is 0ppm nitrates so i guess its cycled? would you guys agree? The only seeding i did was squeezing the filter media from my other tank into the water

    ok so i set up my 55gallon a couple months ago but hadnt added any ammonia or food/dead shrimp to it untill a week ago and i could never get any ammonia readings on my test so i decided to test for nitrates today and got a reading of 10 ppm lol so i guess it cycled without me knowing any input...

    well sratch the paintball tank idea im going to be purchasing the 5lb from aquariumplants in about a month as i found out you can do money orders:) after that i just need my plants:) im so happy now:) onc ei get everything started ill make a thread on my progress.

    well im going to look at a paintball place or walmart which sells a 24oz which is atound 1 1/2 lbs which is alright i guess the only problem is around here no one is selling C02 tanks and if they are its really prixey. Bigals is charging $180 for a 5lb and aquariumplants.com is charging around...

    well im still goign to check it might not be milwakee the regulator looks like it might fit perfectly ill find out soon.wish me luck because i cant find them anywhere else.

    um im not totally sure what system i have i believe it is a milwakee of some sort i bought it of sherry on here a year ago. as for the paintball tanks ill have to check if they fit my regulator maybe ill bring it into a shop to see if it fits the paintball tanks.
