I got one of these sunsuns 2 weeks ago and love it its cheaper and works the same as any other. And most have uvs in them! :) good luck
From what I have seen over all itvis cheeper to just buy on I got a sunsun off eBay for my 45g that's says you can run it on tanks as big as 150g and it works grate has a UV on it too and paid less that 100 for it
That will get us all... I fig ill run chepo tell I see how well it works and if it is worth the extra for a good reg. If all goes well I want to have dwarf baby tears as a carpet.
I'm in Portland or... so hydroponics every where..... I got a chepo reg from china just hooked it up today so we'll see how well it works lol. So far so good.
I found a regulator on eBay for about 50 and got a 5lb co2 tank from a hydroponics store for 65 so it was not to bad. I don't know where abouts you are but I did see the 5lbs online for about the price as well.
I have thought about this too. Setting it up with an overflow and even using solar panel as a background for when the lights are on. The solar panel may even be all one would need with a car battery...?
Does anyone think plastic bottle caps would work. I have seen guys fuse the together and drill holes in them.... but I am far to lazy to spend that much time on that. And I don't think it adds any surface area to them then they already have.
Just get excel off line, and the DIY co2 for your 55... I never done it but from what I have seen on YouTube vids over 40g its just too much work, once you get the pressurized co2 going up keep is cheep.
I have some DS and its just tall grass and I have not had much luck with it spreading. Again..... low light I just have one t8.... so looking at hydroponics stores for cheaper lighting then lfs.
