y splitter for flexible plumbing that has shutoff?

It would actually to be easier to use the insert wye and then put a small ball valve on each branch. Doing it in one fitting is going to be tough since you are going to have to adapt the hose to the valve using FPTxInsert adapters, which are tough to find too.

    stocking 36 gallon bow front

I guess the better question is how did you know the tank cycled without testing the water for Ammonia, Nitrite and Nitrate?

Finally starting my 46 gal planted fresh water

Since you are in Canada I would recommend going to Home Hardware and picking up this stuff Home Hardware - 900mL Ammonia All Purpose Cleaner . It's a lot less messy than using shrimp and you can dial in the amounts to the size of your tank. I have the same tank and cycled it using that and an...

    Aqueon/Python watsr changer

You need a sink to garden hose adapter like this. Moen | Adapter to Hose | Home Depot Canada They usually have both male and female threads, so no matter what your faucet is like, it will work. You can get the brass version too and it should be cheaper.

    Where to buy Plumbing parts?

For most plumbing parts your best best is actually an industrial supplier, or even better a plumbing supply store. They are usually located in industrial areas, but most will take off the street business. You can get good quality PVC locally from these places.

Anyone able to diagnose my Goldfish?

Also, I didn't see anyone say this, but an 7-8 Gallon (28L) tank isn't enough for a goldfish of any size.

Calling on creative thinkers! Building a filter out of strange pump...

Building such a small filter will probably end up costing you just as much as grabbing a new one.

    Darn you ammonia!

More than likely the fish are just a bigger bioload than was cycled as mentioned above. That's why I cycled at 5ppm or so, just to have a rock solid bio filter.

Fishless cycle - ammonia not dropping

Just my two cents, but pick up a Seachem "Ammonia Alert" to stick inside your tank. I have found them to be really accurate and they save you the disappointment of testing constantly for ammonia every 12 hours. Bump that temperature up to 85 or so and make sure that your biological media...

    Diy python for tank filling

I did something similar and used the Aqueon valve and grabbed some tubing at Home Depot. I also built a hanger for my tank out of PVC and simply hang the PVC on the tank and begin draining/filling. I use a gravel vac while this is going to get and loose debis and to fill a bucket with water to...

    Nitrite off the charts

That's fine. The Nitrite to Nitrate conversion takes a while (3-6 weeks). Keep dosing and doing tests. One day you will see them drop right off. Also, pick up a Seachem Ammonia Alert. It saves you from testing for ammonia all the time and it is pretty accurate in my experience.

46 Gallon Bowfront - Fishless Cycle

Ok, so I have been testing my nitrites daily and the odd time checking on the nitrates. Today when I did the nitrite test is was initially purple, but after five minutes turned to the pale blue for 0ppm. My nitrates today seemed lower as well, which is pretty strange, no? I shook the hell out...
