    That will work, the only flaws I see is are that you have light on only onside and if your return gets backed up you might have a pretty mess on your hands. Here is an idea that will allow you to put a sump on your tank for cheap. Just go ahead and get yourself a small rubbermaid storage...

    Prob won't cut my own glass as I have never worked with glass before. Here is a rough sketch of what I have in mind.....dimensions might change an inch or two but nothing major. I want to try and keep the water volume no bigger than 50gal. Here is my paint sketch:

    The skimmer removes organic particles in the water, mimicking what the bech does. A scrubber gets rid or phosphates and nitrates. They each play different role so I wouldn't replace one with the other.

    I LOVE IT!!!! I never grow any algae on my rock/sand and can go almost 4 or 5 days without scrubbing my glass (500w MH - 260w PC). You have to make sure you clean it about every 5-7 days (depending on growth) or you risk leaking nitrates and all other sorts of stuff back into your tank. That...

    I dunno if i missed this, but if you go fish only you need some type of mechanical filtration be it bio-balls or some sort or cartridge filter.
