How much do inverts add to bio-load?

You think there would be a problem even with porcelain crabs since they are filter feeders? I do want a few of them so if I have to skip the shrimp I will. I would even like to get a pom pom in there too but I need to see how their compatibility is with other crabs and shrimp. I do believe they...

How much do inverts add to bio-load?

I am going to set up a 10g tank soon since I have to put my 29g project on hold and I am thinking of doing an invert/softie tank rather than having any fish. I was just wondering how much inverts add to the bio-load compared to fish? My invert list is not been made but will include a shrimp or...

    Need LS/LR...eastern panhandle WV area.

I have to put my 29g project on hold due to the purchase of an expensive "ring" for my g/f for V-Day, so I am now thinking about doing a 10g ghetto project. I have pretty much everything for that except sand and salt. I have a bunch of dead rock but need some LS or LR to seed with. If anyone in...

    Raw Shrimp

Ok, I just re-read you post. So the rock is cured and came straight from your LFS to you tank with little to no time out of water? If so, how about the substrate? Sand I assume and was it LS or not? If it was LS then you are pretty much good to go. Your tank will probably not cycle or it will be...

    Raw Shrimp

I always used the shrimp method and it works well. You can also ghost feed or buy some 100% pure ammonia and add that to the water to start the cycle.

    Bristle Worms

They are good for the tank until they get bigger then there is a possibility they could harm corals but I don't know at what size that would be.

    Solaris LED "Light Bar"...

If you go with T5 HO then you can DIY for even less. It depends on the depth of your tank and what you want to keep. T5 bulbs can last as long as 18 months and are pretty cheap to replace so that I think is the most cost effective option if they work with your setup plans.

PC Lights...how deep can I go?

Cool. Just wanted to make sure. Even though I can do a four bulb T5 retro kit for about $200, that money will be better spent elsewhere for the time being and I can get the tank up and running and upgrade the lights later. Thanks for the info.

PC Lights...how deep can I go?

I have two ballasts and end caps for PC lights that I was going to use on a FW planted tank a few years ago but never followed through with the plan. So they have been sitting around collecting dust. Well, I have decided I want to do another SW tank and I am debating on a 20L and a 29. With the...

    Trustworthy Live rock dealers

Premium Aquatics is nice and Reefer Madness is pretty awesome as well. I am going to order LS and a couple pieces of LR covered in coralline algae from Reefer Madness soon to seed my dead rock and dead sand.

    Hello everyone

Hi, my name is Chad and I am new here. Found this place last night while surfing the net and glad I did. I am from the eastern panhandle of WV like I see a number of others are. Right now I have a 75 gallon Bichir tank and I am in the research phase of a 20L Nano reef tank. I have had SW before...
