It's going to be a Yellow and blue lab cichlids tank or I might transfer my baby oscars here till they outgrow this tank. If it's not cement then what else can I use? I only do cichlids now. Stop doing tropical fish or cold water.

Thanks for everyones reply. Gonna start dipping them in cement on Saturday. Will leave it natural cement colour not gonna add any fancy colour cos once the algee starts growing in the tank it will become darker. And yeah I'll have to double make sure that its properly secured with sealant...

Hi there, I bought a tank set up. It's a 200 tank has a external filter which cycles 600lph, uv steriliser, protein skimmer, 250w halide and the tank has 20kg coral sand. Now the thing is those sand been in a fresh water tank for long time. Someone told me if I keep them sand in ocean salt water...

Thanx man. I've noticed my cichlids going through my sand. I've got a pleco in the tank and that's about it. Finding to hard to find a loach anywhere! All my LPS don't have it.

And one more thing, his already got these fish! It's not like his thinking to get them! At later stage if he can't buy a new tank he can sell his fish! I hope you don't take my harsh words to your heart.

Lol. Dont you think we all don't ask our self the same question. I just bought a piece of bog wood cost me £8! And its only a small piece!

It takes way too much effort to get it all sorted before you can put it in your tank. I just use bog wood that it's been used in aquarium before.

I need to know if I can have snail in my cichlid tank to keep my coral sand bed clean from wasted food? Or even loaches?

These fish will get along cos I had parrot with my old oscars before. Just leave it at that cos all your oscars gonna grow fast also the JD.
