Hey thanks for the reply i forgot to put a update on this little guy. He ended up dying about a week after these photos. I thought it was normal ;(. Really sad i couldn't work out why. My tank had been cycled for over 1 month at that stage and conditions in the water were perfect :(

He sleeps in all the odd positions. I just cant help but laugh every time i see him doing this lol.

I'm thinking this is a possibility. But I always bury the siphon into the gravel so it can't suck up any fish. I think he's to big anyway, he's probably 2iches maybe a bit more. The tube that runs the water out is probably only about 30-40mm wide. Not sure :/

My thoughts exactly, that's why it was only a suggestion as I don't know myself if it is hazardous to fish

I'd probably suggest maybe a rubber band, but not sure others have probably had more experience with that. I've never done it personally

Thanks for replying ive just finished cycling my 10 gal tank and my 55gal is nearly done as well. I tested it today and i had 80 nitrates and about .5ppm nitrites. How long before the 55 gal will be done do you reckon? Thanks
