I just fought the diatom problem. I bought a uv sterilizer in my QT tank I run it 2 days a week. I heard if you run it all the time it's not good for the tank. Someone might have more info on this but it has stopped my problem. It also has cured the iCh problem.

You were right it just closed up for a few days is open and happy again. I ve been using test strips to check water. But they say everything is in check 8.1 - 8.3 ph nitrate and nitrites are within range. I m still fighting brown algae I can't seem to shake it. Could part of my problem be no...

I m leery of cooper treatments, even if I use less TGIF the dose recommended it kills my fish. I am using hypo salinity now and my fish is slowly getting better. I am still trying to figure out how to treat my dt though. Wish the best
