    Stocking help!!

Use the website aqadvisor.com it's great for figuring out stocking. You can type in the dimensions of your tank, the type of filter you're running and your current stocking. It'll tell you all kinds of information like your stocking percentage, temperature you should keep your fish at...

    Rainbowfish

Thanks for all the help, I'd love to hear other people's thoughts on this as well. As of now I'm just gonna stick with the two males and if I notice aggressive behavior then I'll purchase some more. Do you know if you can purchase full grown Rainbows on AquaBid?

    Rainbowfish

I'm not sure how old they are but I know they're both male. I might add more in the future but I'd like to find out a little bit more. I was thinking maybe there would be issues with adding smaller bosemoni's in with the two fully grown adults. What do you think? Thanks for sharing your...

Sorry for the blue lighting. My lights are ramping down at the moment.

    Rainbowfish

I know Rainbowfish are a Shoaling species and should be kept in at least a group of 5. But a local breeder wants to sell me two fully grown Bosemoni for $15 a piece. I feel like this is a great deal and I can get the full affects of their color immediately since I'm not buying them as juveniles...

    Is this overstocked?

It's a twenty gallon long. Another concern I have is that they normally don't recommend keeping these fish on there own but in my system ideally I'd like to just have one. Is this a bad idea? I'm open to picking another fish but the ram is going to function as the center piece of my tank.

    Is this overstocked?

I wanna keep a new 20 gallon planted tank but I've been out of the hobby for several years. Ideally in my tank I wanna have.. 9 Forktail blue eyed rainbows 3 Amano shrimp Small colony of cherry shrimp Small school of Cardinal tetras And eventually when the tank is fully established, an Electric...

    New 20 Gallon setup

Thanks, are all types of these plants for beginners? I failed to mention I setup a planted tank for my sister but it was a tiny little 3 gallon. I put nothing in there except for Anubias Nana, I believe it was called, and a micro sword. The Anubias did great while the Sword just slowly died. I...

    New 20 Gallon setup

Thanks for the tip on the Shrimp, but as I said before I've kept tanks in the past and I'm familiar with the nitrogen cycle.

    New 20 Gallon setup

I'm trying to startup a 20 gallon freshwater tank to sit on my new desk. I'm not new to the aquarium hobby but I haven't had a fish tank in several years. I've housed a 60 gallon reef tank, 30 gallon cichlid tank, 5 gallon nano, and another 30 gallon reef tank over the years. However, for the...

    Electric Blue Jack Dempseys

Okay thanks that helps! Could you send a picture of them and your setup? I'd love to see how they're doing.

    Electric Blue Jack Dempseys

Sounds like it, I just wanted any information really. Nothing in particular has come to mind except for one thing. I've heard keeping these fish as juveniles can be more difficult then when they're fully adults. Have you had any experience with that? Or do you know if it's even true?

    Electric Blue Jack Dempseys

If anyone has any experience with these fish can you talk about your experiences with them? I'd also love to see some pictures of the fish and your setup. Thanks in advance!
