There are tiny, larvae type things swimming in my 10 gal tank. I have 2 Gobies, one sm Clown, Emerald crab and a few Hermit crabs. I noticed them this morning at least 200. They have really big eyes and a tail with legs like off the sides and they seem to stretch it out to swim. There's no fins...
It seems to keep coming and going in my main tank, I have a copperband and a clown left in the tank. The cleaner fish takes prety good car of the Copperband but it seems like whenever I add any more fish they start dying. I just lost a clown this morning. Maybe if I do the sterile thing it would...
Thats all it is... I knew the uv thing had a lot to do with it but I didn't know if you have to steady add chemicals to it or not? I was looking at a Blue Tang at the LFS and he said they needed a sterilized tank to be at their best since they are hi risk to parasites.
Ron at LR told me that they are not the kind that should be killed. They don't reproduce as fast and come from a different part f the ocean. But it's your call!
Does it have brown coloring to it wth black tips and a small bit of hair on it? If it does it may be a gorilla crab. There are some pics on the TBS Live rock site!!
My peppermint Shrimp does nothing, my Copperband does a better job eating them. I have heard you can shoot them with Tobasco sauce, lemon juice and vinagar. I would stick to Joes juice to be safe. Just be make sure you drop a tiny bit when you get close so they will come all the way out thinking...
