Any suggestions on good quality unit? Taking into consideration water usage, filter replacement costs, and ultimately ease-of-use and quality of water.

I'm just wondering if any of the members have ever built a battery back up system for their reefs in case of extended power outages. I'm only really concerned with my heaters and circulation pumps. I will be building one soon, just looking for input. Or does anyone know of a ready available...

I cannot get my ammonia to spike over .50 ppm. I did the raw shrimp thing, and it's been a little over two weeks now. The shrimp is disappearing but I've never seen a high spike of ammonia. I did all dry rock, and I did add some seed, it's a line of Sea Chem product that's supposed to help with...

I have found two hermit dead over the last 8 or ten days out of they're shell and looking beat up. What could cause this? I have two clowns , a manderin , had seven hermits and seven snails, nine corals and all in a 28 gallon nano cube cf. Tanks been running about four months and every thing...

I do 5 gallon weekly water changes and everything else seems to be doing great. Corals spreading, fish ok, battleing a little hair algea but other than that ok.
