Got this two weeks ago out of a tank along with 8 other assorted corals no names given I know the other but this one I can't figure out and nothing has ever came out of the holes
I wouldn't do it. It will eventually mix with the sand and make it look dirty. But if you do crushed coral is very dusty so rinse really really well. What I did was scoop it with a cup and put the cup all the way down to the bottom then dump it. Good luck.
If it belongs in the ocean then so does all of our fish. It is very hypocritical to say otherwise.
Know what your getting into and do tons of research.
You have to make sure you get the right peppermint shrimp. I forget but I'm sure someone will chime in or look on liveaquaria.
The 3 lfs in my area sell the wrong kind I had to order the right ones on the Internet but it was worth it.
I got mine from my lfs. It's a very tiny hook I would just drop it in and yank them out. I did this with 3 damsels and a wrasse. A friend put them in his tank where they are still living today. A lot of people don't like this method but it worked I tried the trap first it didn't work for me...
