- We have four tanks. A 45 with base and canopy that is a community tank at the moment. There are a couple crypts that I recently put into there that seem to be doing okay. It has 4 spotted cory cats, small bristlenose algae eater, 8 small neons, 2 juvenile blue gouramis, a male swordtail, as well as 5+mollies and platys. The tank is SERIOUSLY clean. Runs a 100 gallon filter (overkill, but we had it). I have a 55 hex (25in tall and around 24 inch flat to flat) that is my planted tank at the moment. It's only about 5 days old. Used a filter from the previous tank and have it cycling now. It has about 3in of eco-complete with about 2 inches of smaller gravel on top. I have four types of plants: Ludwigia Red, Corkscrew Val, red crypts and another plant I can't remember the name (stem plant). So far there is no melting that wasn't already there and things look good. It will eventually house angels with a small number of bottom feeders. It has a hooded lighting system with 3 fluorescent bulbs
