Whenever i need to get rid of fish, i post them on craigslist, either in the free category or in the Pets category. It is against their rules, but its usually up long enough for people to see. I never have to wait more than a day for people to inquire and since they are getting them for free...
I currently have a 55 gallon FW tank with the following inhabitants:
3 Pictus Cats
1 Honey Gourami
1 Denison Barb
I plan on adding 4 more Denison Barbs, but I feel the tank will still be a little empty.
My question is this:
What else can I put in the tank? I want a somewhat larger fish...
I have normal looking wisteria in the same tank. The leaves are completely different. The unknown species grows so much better than my wisteria.
And yes, I planted the aluminum in a pot and put it near my aquariums. During my water changes, I'll water the aluminum.
It has teardrop shaped leaves with white streaks on them.
The next one is low growing and has long brownish-red colored leaves..
The last one reminds me of water wisteria but is a little different.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks for your time.
I have owned a DG before but it never stayed near the surface. Maybe my water was just so well-oxygenated ;). I love the opaline gourami.
A little off topic but why is the giant gourami so small?
Thanks. That is exactly what I am looking for. The only fish I were aware of that stayed near the surface were Danios and hatchetfish. I am considering the gourami. Would you recommend a specific type?
I just got a new 55 gallon tank for Christmas. I was wondering if these fish would work once full sized. AqAdvisor said it would work but I'm wondering if they'll have enough room/ territory.
5 Pictus Catfish
5 Roseline Barbs
1 Large surface fish
So far I have fish for the bottom and middle of...
I just got a new 55 gallon tank (I think). The inhabitants will be 3 Hillstream Loaches, 6 Roseline Barbs, and 3-5 bamboo shrimp (depending how cheap they are).
Now my questions;
1.) What else can I put in my tank?
2.) all of these fish like/need a current, how do I produce a strong current...
I found out what a native tank is. The only problem is that it's winter right now where I live. Plus I've heard it's difficult to acclimate a wild fish to captivity. Good idea though.
