    New fish keep dying.

I forgot to add, I recommend using a reputable brand when using a PH meter. The good ones are not cheap. I also like the idea of drift wood better for regulating ph. I just use tap water which I dechlorinate with aquasafe by tetra. If I had more space I would just leave the buckets out overnight...

    Beta with guppies/tetra

Never had guppies however I've had neon tetras with different betas without many issues. The beta just would chase them away. They seemed too quick for the beta to be harmed. They never seemed to harm any betas I had. The beta's were just territorial. I really liked having a beta. Always seemed...

How do I give away giant plektos?

What is LFS? If you are referring to local fish store, I stated in my original post that they have closed down. Walmart is out of the question. If it's referring to local food store I don't think that would fly too well LOL. Wouldn't they be a bit too bony?

Thanks. I would be willing to reimburse the fee for the customer as long as it's reasonable.

How do I give away giant plektos?

I have 2 big plectos about a foot in length each. The aquarium is only about 30 - 40 gallons. I can't remember when I got them but I think I've had them for over 2 years. They seem healthy but their space is way to small. They knock decorations over, push each other out of the way to fight for...

Can a pleco live in an outdoor pond??

I could be wrong but I think they are more native to tropical areas. I don't think they could adjust to colds that extreme. It might cost you a small fortune to heat that pond. Electric heat is one of the worst ways to go money wise. Their probably are alternatives though like gas. If you can go...

What Made You Want A Freshwater Aquarium?

Decoration but now thinking of going more to plants with a few fish that are easy and require little water changes.

    New fish keep dying.

That PH is a bit high for fresh water fish but I would think they could still survive in it. Are you sure the snail are not escaping? Do you quarantine new fish before adding to the general population? I find most new fish I get come with ick. Look for it's symptoms like white spots about the...

Will Tetras scavenge off the bottom for food?

I just feed mine the flakes. I never seem to notice my tetras scavenge anything on the bottom but they are also always well fed. I think most fish would try scavenging the bottom though if they couldnt find any other food source.
