School I think I'd get a MESS of small, schooling fish. Like hundreds of tetras or something. The schooling phenomenon is amazing to watch.

well, he(she?) just died, I don't think he acclimatized to the tank. fed him frozen bloodworms and saw him eat a few times, but I think the new environment finally stressed him out. it's a wide 40gal, with plenty of hiding places, rocks, vegetation. Going to try again, I've tested the water...

Just picked up an elephant nose and people are mentioning that they are feeding them by hand, eventually. So, if you have a fish you hand feed: What technique did you use for feeding to get them to come to your hand, and what are you feeding them? Thanks!

Just bought an Elephant Nose, he seems to be doing well. Question though, some sites recommend a "ghost tube" a sort of clear tube to facilitate viewing him during the day. Anyone know what the heck this is/where to get one? Thanks in advance! edit: Just found it on bigals, called a ghost...

JUST installed the 350 pro, and here's input from a newb: 1) came without the screws to hold the biopro to the tank. Quick trip to lowes, and that was solved. 2) you really have to watch the directions and assemble it JUST like they say, with the hoses on the proper ends of the "T" for the bio...

Stand Height If you have a canister filter, make sure that you have enough height for the tubes to properly go up and out the back. I had to put elbows on my Magnum 350, and I have trouble burping it. Also, nice to have the height when you go to change out the media, etc, and have to remove...

Block out the colors I've found that when trying to decide between one color or the band next to it, it helps if I block out those colors with my finger one at a time until one makes sense. If both are exposed, and you're "between" them, then it's easy to just sit there and stare.... I, too...

Zebra Loach My zebra loach disappears into a hole in a chunk of coral that I have for hours at a time. The hole is barely bigger than he is. I thought I lost him (her?) for a while. My first one jumped out of the tank and died when I wasn't looking, so I'm pretty paranoid about this one...

Im not necessarily keen on a betta, at this point ANYTHING that swims is really cool! I have that aquarium screensaver on my PC and thought THAT was mesmerizing. I liked the loaches, and I'll check out the others. That's a great website. Any others you'd recommend? Oh, and is there one...
